Ifugao / Mayoyao
The province of Ifugao is a landlocked province in the Cordillera Administrative Region in Luzon. Its capital is Lagawe, bordered to the west side by Benguet, to the north side by Mountain Province, to the east by Isabela and to the south side by Nueva Vizcaya.
The 2000 year old Banaue Rice Terraces are the main tourist attraction in the province. In 1995, the site was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Ifugao has a total land area of 251,778 hectares and is home of the famous Banaue Rice Terraces. The extensive mountain ranges that dominate the landscape have been terraced by hand for growing rice because there is hardly any level land. Even the villages are on the mountain slopes.
Mayoyao is located at the eastern portion of Ifugao approximately 41 kilometers from Banaue; 371 kilometers east of Baguio City and 536 kilometers northeast of Metro Manila. Travel to Mayoyao is a three to four hours ride, be it from Banaue or from Santiago City (Isabela) along a road which dips and climbs hundred of meters among picturesque terraced hills, forests, and villages. The views of the rice terraces in Mayoyao are awesome; the municipality sits on top of the rice terraces.

this part of Philippines as the center of Mindanao looks really as the island of Reunion - huge "cirques " as we call in geographie, and this mist in the north running along the mountains and valleys - realy amazing-
